In 2000, I designed the portrait side of the Governor General's Academic Medal for Her Excellency The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson and His Excellency John Ralston Saul. This is one of the sketches I submitted to the Royal Mint. The calligraphic flourishes in the background refer to their love of the written and spoken word.
