Anneka Richmond, Head Girl 2003-4
Acrylic & Gold Leaf, 30" x 40", 2004
SOLD
Her uniformed figure, depicted slightly out of the frame, speaks of a young woman not solely concerned with school life, rather, along with the duties of Head Girl, Anneka Richmond led a full life outside of Elmwood. As the youngest woman to have received a private pilot's license in Canada, Anneka has spent hours in the sky. Hence, the night sky , resplendent with gold leaf stars, glow behind her as a symbol of her dreams of a future as an RAF pilot.
Anneka happily agreed to stand for four sessions rather than sit for her portrait - an example of her willingness to take on life's challenges without complaint.
